UPDATE: Now that the E. Coli outbreak has been eradicated and the C.D.C. has cleared romaine lettuce for use, Tuscan Pizza will begin serving it again. Thank you for your understanding.
As you may know, there has been a multistate E. coli outbreak linked to romaine lettuce. The C.D.C. has recently expanded its warning to cover all types of romaine from the Yuma, Arizona growing region. The expansion now includes whole heads and hearts of romaine lettuce, as well as chopped romaine and salads containing romaine. For this reason, Tuscan Pizza removed all of the romaine lettuce in our possession and replaced it with iceberg lettuce.
By ensuring that we do not use any romaine at our location, we are removing the risk of E. coli affecting the food you have come to know and love. Until the C.D.C. provides adequate assurances that romaine is no longer at risk of infection, we will continue to use iceberg in it’s place.
If you have any questions prior to ordering your food, please feel free to ask our staff.
